End Reign - S/T 7”
A1 - Horror
A2 - Abyss
B1 - To Pray For
B2 - Dream Eater
The sound of aggression. This dark and bleak self-titled effort from End Reign epitomises their brick-in-your-face sound, giving no repose or break throughout the four song 7”.
End Reign have moved from strength to strength, after having release four demo tracks, followed by a split with Alaska, they have definitely settled into their own distinct sound and style of hardcore. The punchy guitar lines seem to blend the sheer force of bands like Brutality Will Prevail, with the heavy riffs of Rise and Fall, whist the vocalist’s strained and emotional sound is reminiscent of Jacob Bannon.
This releases demonstrates the range over which End Reign feel comfortable; from the very hectic, almost mathcore sound of To Pray For, to the sludge beginning of Dream Eater that could happily put them on stage with the like of Bastions. If you don’t already own End Reign then you should head over to Fist In The Air/Holy Roar/Hemlock 13/Witch Hunter Records quickly because they are selling out at a staggering rate!
